Garment Care

An Old Money Official garment is designed to endure — evolving gracefully with each passing season.
Caring for it is not merely maintenance; it is a gesture of respect for the craftsmanship and materials that define its essence.

Below are our guidelines to preserve the integrity of your garments and ensure their longevity over time.

Washing

  • Always check the care label: each garment includes specific instructions. Following them is essential to avoid irreversible damage.

  • For delicate fabrics such as silk, cashmere or wool, hand wash in cold or lukewarm water using a gentle detergent.

  • If using a washing machine, select a delicate cycle at a low temperature (no more than 30°C), and place sensitive garments in a protective mesh bag.

  • Avoid prolonged soaking and do not rub the fabric vigorously — natural fibres require care and gentleness.

Drying

  • Avoid tumble dryers: high heat can compromise fabric structure and cause shrinkage.

  • Air dry garments flat and away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and distortion.

  • Gently blot excess water with a clean towel. Never wring the garment.

Ironing

  • Iron garments inside out, and adjust the temperature of the iron according to the fabric.

  • For delicate items, use a cotton pressing cloth between the iron and the garment, or choose a steamer at a safe distance.

  • Avoid direct contact with embroidery, prints or sensitive detailing.

Storage

  • Store garments in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources and humidity.

  • Use padded hangers for coats and blazers, and fold knitwear and trousers carefully.

  • Avoid plastic garment bags; opt for breathable fabric covers instead.

  • To protect against moths, use natural repellents such as lavender sachets or cedar wood blocks.

Additional Advice

  • Rotate garments regularly to allow fabrics to recover and maintain their natural shape.

  • Treat stains promptly, blotting gently without rubbing. For delicate or high-value items, consider using a professional cleaner.

Caring for your clothing is not simply a routine — it is a reflection of a lifestyle rooted in awareness, intention, and appreciation for enduring quality.
Old Money Official invites you to embrace that philosophy, with garments made to be worn, cherished, and passed on.
